Godiva chocolate? No. Hershey’s kiss? No. Whitman’s Sampler? No.
Of all the wonderful candies that are marketed especially for Valentine’s Day, my very favorite by far are conversation hearts. You know, the old-school ones that are kinda chalky? My family makes fun of me about this. In fact, after all this time they won’t even indulge me anymore by letting me read the pithy phrases out loud with enthusiasm.
As most of us know, February is American Heart Month and there are numerous reminders and tips for heart health in the media and in coordinated public events. For Jacksonville Center for Clinical Research, however, heart health is part of who we are every day of the year. Our contributions to cardiovascular research have put us ahead of our peers in the research world, and we take pride in the fact that many research programs involving novel therapies are offered exclusively at our sites in the early phases of development.
So, what if we developed our own line of JCCR conversation hearts? What would they say?
Don’t stress……. Your treadmill is calling…..Laugh more…… Stop smoking…….Go vegan…… Put down that french fry!..... Know your risk factors……Love your heart….
